As I sit here in the garden and let what feels like the first warmth of Spring fall over me, I wonder where I’ll migrate to next.

What path will I follow and where will I plant my feet next. Will I wander with the wolves in the desert or flow through the next city like a river.

I want an environment that will help flourish my growth and water my ideas.

But in life, you don’t often get what you want, but rather what you need, so until then, I’ll get lost in these adventures, and always end up longing for you.

BRB in Europe

I figured it was time for another life update, so by now I am sure many of you have noticed I am still in Europe. What originally started off as a two-week trip, turned into a month, and now has turned into “I’ll be back in LA for New Year’s.” I didn’t really plan for this, I only brought one suitcase full of clothes, and none of them are "real" Winter clothes; truthfully, I don’t know if I am ready for the possibility of snow, so please send hot chocolate and your best advice!!! Nonetheless, I have decided to extend my trip for a few reasons, and since I am become quite the list girl, here’s a few reasons why:
  • I’m 23 why not?
  • My grandparents are getting older, and I am trying to hold my reign as being the favorite grandchild
  • I am perfecting my 2018 GLOW UP ;)
  • It’s actually cheaper for me to live in Europe
  • My job gives me the flexibility to live and work where I please
  • I want to travel to more places in Europe, maybe Milan, maybe London, and flying from Estonia is way cheaper than LA, plus no jet lag, soooo….
While I am planning to do a little traveling in Europe, my current state is traveling from the city to the country in Estonia, and couch crashing on different family member’s couches. It’s given me a ton of time to bond with different family members, and really become one with nature, but I won’t kid you, I do miss LA, and I miss having my own space. LA is my city, but I have always believed that when things work out perfectly you just have to go with it and trust the process, it’s gotten me this far in life. So for now my moment is in Europe, and truthfully I can’t tell you where I’ll be 6 months from now, because if you told me a year ago I’d be living in Estonia right now, I would have called BS on you so fast. While this might sound like a 23-year-old existential crisis, or soul searching (it did start off like that), now it’s just my life. I think life is meant to be lived, and sometimes things deviate from the path, and I don’t really think there is one right or wrong way to live, just whatever works for you and makes you happy.

I guess in a weird way it's a reminder to me that I am only 23, besides being able to provide for myself, I can pretty much be as selfish with my time and decision that I want. If anyone is currently going through the stress of having to graduate and not know what is coming next. I will be the first to tell you that it is going to be a rollercoaster, but once you're on you won't want to get off. You'll figure it out, we all will, and we do, but for now enjoy it all, and stay gold, Ponyboy!

I’ll see the rest of you in January!

Homecoming

No more parties in the Midwest.

Not exactly my homecoming, but my "Kanye inspired homecoming." In fact I had never been to the Midwest before, and truthfully if one of my best friend's hadn't moved to Chicago I don't know if I ever would have visited, but Chicago exceeded all my expectations, and I totally get it now. In a weird way it reminded me a ton of Estonia, with a modern downtown, and the great lake reminded me of the Baltic sea, and the constant wind, and all the European languages I was hearing, I couldn't help myself, but reminisce.

BUT you see the two key things that motivated me to take this trip.
  1. One of my best friend's Lauren (aka LWynne94) was celebrating her Jordan Year.
  2. And it is the city that made Kanye who Kanye is.

I am a BIG Kanye fan, like through and through. Musically I think he is brilliant, and in true Kanye form I can appreciate someone who wholeheartedly loves and embraces themselves, and what a creative genius they are. If you don't love yourself, than who will?

While most of our time was spent in the mindset of celebration, eating and drinking our way through Chicago. We did get to partake in more cultured(?) activities. By visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art and then hitting the downtown landmarks like The Bean and seeing the grand river.

I am a museum groupie, and make an effort to go to a museum or two in every city that I visit. I love to see the technique and detail that goes into pieces and to read, or just tag along with the tours, to learn about the artist inspiration. Art while so incredibly subjective gives us all a little glimpse at ourselves and life when we notice the ones that catch our attention.
However, the big celebration happened on Sunday with a bottomless birthday brunch, and we'll just leave it at that.

Here's to another trip to the windy city sometime soon!
